Warranty: PZEV Warranty Application

When a vehicle comes into a dealership, the first thing to access in WEBDCS should be the Warranty Vehicle Information Screen. This page provides VIN-specific information which is necessary to determine what emission coverage a vehicle has. Depending on which state the vehicle was certified for and sold in, coverage on emission parts can vary from car to car.

For example: If a VIN is typed into the Warranty Vehicle Information screen and PZEV appears as the Emission Type, that vehicle qualifies for the 15 year/150,000 mile warranty on a corresponding PZEV part. To determine if a part is covered under PZEV, you would refer to the Warranty/HPP Coverage Inquiry, also located in WEBDCS.  If the results show that the part is covered under the 15 year/150,000 mile PZEV emissions warranty and the PZEV certified vehicle is registered in a PZEV state, then the 15 year/150,000 mile emissions warranty applies.

Blue Link Helpful Hint: Car Finder

The Car Finder feature on the Blue Link® Mobile App allows you to search for your vehicle within a 1-mile radius of your vehicle and gives you the ability to save your vehicle’s location for future reference.

To Activate Car Finder via Blue Link Mobile App:

  • Select Destination/Send to Car
  • Then select CAR FINDER, which is the car icon. You will be prompted to SEARCH or TAG a new location.
  • To Search Within a 1-mile radius:
    • Enter your Blue Link PIN.
    • The command will be sent to your vehicle, the location will be shown on the map and your vehicle’s lights will flash for approximately 30 seconds. Note: The customer will get a notification that Remote Lights were triggered which is used to locate the vehicle’s current location.
